About:

Production of this webinar was funded by a grant from NCPTT, the National Center for Preservation Technology and Training.

APT’s 2012 Annual Conference held in Charleston, South Carolina was highly successful, attended by over 500 persons with an interest in the technology of historic preservation. The content chosen for this webinar includes three of the most popular and pertinent of the 60 paper presentations from the 2012 Conference.

Neil Bywater (Lincoln Cathedral, Lincoln, U.K.) teaches about a European approach to stone preservation and consolidation during his presentation of work being conducted at Lincoln Cathedral, constructed in medieval times and located north of London.

Elwin Robison (EDI Building Consultants, Inc., Independence, Ohio) provides a unique opportunity to revisit a preservation project after 30 years, investigating the current condition of preservation work conducted circa 1980 on the Salt Lake City & County Building.

Ivan Myjer (Building & Monument Conservation, Arlington, Massachusetts) will begin by discussing work at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, where the skills and knowledge of masons and conservators were linked to better understand and address brownstone deterioration.
